PERSONALITY: Kojii Fujisaki is a person who always has a smile on his face and a warmth in his heart. He likes to help others, even if it means sacrificing his own comfort or convenience. He is a pacifist by nature and refuses to be used as a weapon. He has left behind the leaf, where he faced many hardships and challenges, and now he sees life from a more positive perspective. He appreciates the beauty and joy of living, and he tries to spread it to everyone he meets.
Though he fights as a last resort he undergoes a radical transformation when he does. His pleasant personality is replaced by rage . Kojii had never known his real parents. He was raised by Root, a secret organization of ninja loyal to the Hokage. He learned to be a spy, an assassin, and a loyal soldier. He loved his Root family, even though they were forbidden to show emotions.
At the beginning of the 3rd Great Ninja War, when he was eleven, he was sent on a mission to infiltrate a noble family in the Land of Waterfalls and assassinate the head of the family. He acted as a servant and got close to the noble, until he was betrayed by one of the other servants. He was captured, and thrown into a dark dungeon. For a year, he endured torture and starvation. He never gave up any secrets about Root or the Hokage. He hoped that someone would come to rescue him, but no one did. He felt abandoned and alone.
One night, he woke up to see an old man in his cell. The old man had white hair and skin, and a gentle smile. He said he was a hermit who lived in the mountains, but he was arrested for begging by the noble's men. He said he had come to the land to find peace in his last days. Kojii and the old man became friends. They talked about many things, and the old man taught Kojii some of his wisdom. He said he had a special power that he had been hiding for a long time. He said he grew far too old and tired to keep hiding and planned on passing on to break his endless pilgrimage.
One night, the old man decided to help Kojii escape knowing that they planned on executing him the next day. He waited until Kojii was asleep, and then he transferred his power and life force to him. A small black diamond appeared over Kojii's heart, and the old man disappeared into thin air.
When Kojii woke up the next day, he was lying in a green field under a blue sky. He felt no pain, and he wore new clothes. He looked around and saw that he was far away from the noble's castle. He saw smoke rising from the direction of the dungeon.
He heard a voice in his head. It was the old man's voice. He said that he had used his power to save Kojii from his fate. He said that he had lived long enough, and that he wanted Kojii to have a chance at a better life. He asked him to do one thing: to live free of shackles. He felt a mix of gratitude and sadness. He thanked the old man for his gift, and then he thought about what he wanted to do with his life. He decided that he would never return to the leaf and spend time reflecting on what it meant to be truly free. He got up and started walking towards the horizon. He felt a new power in his chest, and a new hope in his heart. He vowed to honor the old man's wish, and to live his life free of shackles.
In the 10 years since he was freed he has roamed between the lands helping people and staying clear of the war happening around him. He tries to never fight but has been forced on occasion to protect someone innocent.
